CONTINUOUS APPROXIMATION OF THE COMPLEX DYNAMICS OF DISCONTINUOUS SYSTEM

A CONTINUOUS APPROXIMATION OF A DISCONTINUOUS, SECOND-ORDER, LINEAR SYSTEMS IS PRESENTED. THE DISCONTINUOUS SYSTEMS INCLUDES A SIGNUM FUNCTION, APPROXIMATED BY A SATURATION-TYPE FUNCTION, WHOSE COMPLEX DYNAMICS IS ANALYZED BASED ON SOME RECENT RESULTS. A NUMERICAL COMPARISON BETWEEN THE ANALYTICAL SOLUTIONS OF BOTH SYSTEMS SHOWS THE ACCURACY OF THE APPROXIMATION.
