Can noise annihilate chaos?

Helle Hein, Ülo Lepik
It is well known that if we add noise to a deterministic dynamic system then
the motion turns irregular (stochastic chaos). It is somewhat surprising that an opposite
phenomenon also takes place: if we add noise to a chaotic system then the motion may turn regular and is terminated on some of the fixed points or on the limit cycle. Such cases
are investigated in the present paper.
