Phase-locking phenomena and excitation of damped and driven
nonlinear oscillator
The resonant phase-locking phenomena ("autoresonance") in van der Pol-Duffing
oscillator forced by a small amplitude periodic driving with the slowly varying frequency
have been studied. We have shown that the autoresonance takes place for oscillators
with sufficiently small effects of damping when the system may have bi-stable states.
We found the range of parameters of the oscillator, thresholds and appropriate
control pathes when autoresonant excitation of high amplitude oscillations becames
possible.
