A Comparison of Collision Avoidance Methods Effectiveness in a Mobile Ad-hoc Network

Two selected collision avoidance methods, designed for application in wireless networks, namely: busy tone detection and control frames exchange, have been described. Their effectiveness in an ad-hoc network containing mobile stations has been compared. A criterion of effectiveness estimation for control frames exchange has been proposed.
