Early Detection of Locust Swarming—Behavioral Indices for Phase Transformation
In the present study, we have developed an individual-based model of locust behavior in which the increase in jumping and turning frequency leads to a phase change. The simulation results are consistent with earlier field and lab observations, and demonstrate that there is significant behavior difference between solitarious- and gregarious phase.
